The Race is Getting Interesting
Because they have the easier remaining schedule, the Cubs are still statistically favored but a Brewers' win and a Cubs' loss tomorrow will erase that edge. Meaningful baseball in September!
The statistical edge may be to the Cubs, but the team playing the best, most confident baseball is the Brewers. Right now, were I a Cubs fan, I'd be a bit worried. The Brewers are winning on the road (albeit against Houston's triple A team) and the Cubs are losing at home. It is definitely a toss-up at this point. Will Brewer pitching continue to be adequate? I think they'll continue to score runs, but this could come down to a 1982-type finish to the season.
